These were made for the home cinema versions only. DVDs of other movies sometimes show "Overture" title cards (e.g. the ones you mentioned above or "Spartacus", "East of Eden" etc.). In the cinema these movies played the overture music over the closed curtains. No such title cards as well. As someone says in the audio commentary of the "Spartacus" dvd (I think it was this one.) these title cards were included for the home cinema users so that they don't think that something is wrong with their home cinema equipment.
